MESSAGE FROM THE CO-CHAIRS

Dear Massachusetts Lesbian and Gay Bar Association member,

As the MLGBA has evolved through the past 23 years, so have we all.  As we transform from who we are as individuals and as an organization, we are led to new experiences, new goals, and new heights!  We are now preparing to pass the leadership baton and MLGBA will be moving into its next chapter of development and growth.  Thus, this years Dinner is appropriately focused on TRANSFORMATION.  On May 9th at the Royal Sonesta Hotel in Cambridge we will honor those who have transformed MLGBA and the GLBTQ community through their own transformations!

Mark Mason, Partner at Cooley Shrair P.C., transformed how we think of bar leadership, becoming the first openly gay President of the Massachusetts Bar Association.  He shows us all how to acknowledge our power to do anything we choose in any environment we desire.

Vicki Henry, Partner at Foley Hoag LLC, transformed the MLGBA through years of putting creative thinking into action, making MLGBA a premiere bar organization.  With her indomitable spirit, she decided not to stop there and joined the board of MassEquality and worked tirelessly to transform this state into one that honors all couples in marriage.

Gunner Scott and the Massachusetts Transgender Political Coalition have rapidly transformed into an organization whose voice is powerful. MTPC has educated and advocated for the understanding and equal protection of persons based on their gender identity and expression.

All of our honorees have exemplified what it is to transform oneself and the community through thought, action, and word.  Using power within, they became public leaders that show us all what it is to create change inside and out!

As Co-Chairs, it is with great appreciation and humility that we look forward to honoring those who have honored our community.  We would love for you to share with us this momentous evening of celebration and transformation at the Royal Sonesta on May 9th.

Most Sincerely,

Chic Wagner (cpwagner@comcast.net) Christina Miller (hthmiller@hotmail.com)
